Chief Project Officer

Position Purpose

The Chief Project Officer leads the Project Management Office and oversees the successful delivery of client programs into the company. In addition to providing strategic leadership, the CPO directly manages selected high-priority or strategic client projects, acting as a Project Manager when required.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio & Project Leadership

  • Oversee and prioritize the company’s project portfolio to ensure successful execution of client programs.
  • Directly manage selected projects.
  • Monitor project performance and address issues impacting timelines, quality, scope, or client satisfaction.  

Team & Client Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop team of Project Managers.
  • Serve as executive sponsor and escalation point for key client programs.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and support resolution of critical project issues.  

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Ensure effective collaboration between Manufacturing, QC, PD&AD, QA, Quality Compliance, Supply Chain, and Business Development.
  • Facilitate decision-making and remove obstacles affecting project delivery.  

Business & Compliance

  • Support resource planning, forecasting, and operational alignment.
  • Ensure projects are executed in compliance with GMP and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement of project management practices and processes.  

Authority

  • Prioritize projects and resources across the portfolio.
  • Manage strategic client projects directly.
  • Escalate significant risks and issues to the CEO.
  • Represent the Project Management Office within the leadership team.
