To support this phase, SCTbio is seeking an experienced Vice President of Business Development who will work directly with the CEO, CCO and CFO to drive near-term revenue growth and strengthen the company’s commercial position in the global cell therapy CDMO market.
This role requires a hands-on commercial leader with a strong industry network, capable of converting qualified opportunities into revenue while ensuring alignment with SCTbio’s operational capabilities and profitability targets.
The role works closely with executive leadership and will contribute directly to commercial strategy, deal structuring, and pricing decisions.
Mission of the Role
The Vice President of Business Development will:
• Deliver measurable commercial progress by advancing existing opportunities while developing a strong pipeline of new client engagements that convert into signed agreements.
• Drive utilization of SCTbio’s GMP facility capacity through targeted business development in the ATMP and cell therapy markets.
• Strengthen SCTbio’s commercial positioning within the global CDMO ecosystem.
• Prioritize high-value opportunities aligned with the company’s technical capabilities and operational capacity.
• Establish disciplined commercial processes that support predictable execution and sustainable growth.
Success will be measured by the successful conversion of qualified opportunities, the development of a sustainable commercial pipeline, and the generation of revenue-producing client programs.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Generation & Commercial Leadership
• Identify, develop, and convert high-value opportunities in the cell and gene therapy CDMO market.Primary focus on Europe, USA and China
• The role requires an existing and active professional network capable of generating qualified commercial opportunities.
• Structure and negotiate commercial agreements aligned with operational feasibility and margin objectives.
• Lead the preparation of proposals, Statements of Work (SoWs), and pricing models.
Client Relationship Development
• Serve as the primary commercial interface for new clients.
• Build long-term partnerships with biotechnology and advanced therapy developers.
• Maintain transparent communication and manage complex commercial discussions.
Strategic Market Positioning
• Refine SCTbio’s positioning within the ATMP/CDMO ecosystem.
• Identify market segments and client profiles offering the strongest commercial potential.
• Continuously monitor the market for emerging opportunities in cell therapy manufacturing.
Commercial Process Development
• Strengthen BD → Proposal → Contract → Delivery → Billing workflows.
• Work closely with technical and operational teams to ensure rapid evaluation and scoping of new client opportunities.
• Contribute to the development of a scalable business development capability.

The ideal candidate combines industry credibility, commercial execution capability, and a strong professional network within the ATMP/CDMO ecosystem.

Qualifications
• Advanced degree in Life Sciences (PhD preferred).
• 10+ years of international business development experience within CDMO, contract manufacturing, or advanced therapies.
• Demonstrated success converting commercial opportunities into revenue-generating programs.
• Experience working within biotech, cell therapy, or ATMP manufacturing environments.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen.
• Ability to operate effectively in evolving organizational environments and to prioritize activities with clear commercial impact.
• Fluency in English.
• Willingness to travel 25–50%.
